The words, they are a-comin’. Since the last post Mateo’s added the following words to his repertoire:
Ba (for ball)
Hoyo (Spanish for hole)
I (he recognizes the letter “I”)
Niña (girl in Spanish)
Odin (Russian for the number 1; he recognizes the shape, but not the concept yet)
Open
Pan (bread)
Up (& sometimes “down”)
Of course, Mateo doesn’t always use words appropriately. For example, the other day we were on a walk and there was an older lady coming down the street in a wheelchair. As soon as he saw her, Mateo pointed at her and said “baby! baby!” He kept on pointing and saying “baby” as we walked up to her and beyond. I guess wheelchair = stroller = baby. Oh, Mateo…
