Mateo just told me I love you for the first time! (It only took a few weeks after he said “I love you, Nemo.”) We were in his bed as he was getting ready for nap and Mateo turned to me with a hug and said, I love you! So sweet!
Mateo’s also been doing some very unique translating these days: he’s started taking words in one language and translating them to another, but with funny results. For example, the Russian word for spicy also means sharp, so Mateo said that something sharp was “picante” (spicy in Spanish); Mateo also took the Spanish word for “to crawl” (gatear, which sounds kind of like gato–spanish for cat) and then tried to ask me to crawl to him by saying “mama cat here.”
Roan’s also growing quite strong. He’s turning to his side and can rotate a full 90 degrees while he’s on his back or his tummy. He’s got some strong legs, that one!

Mateo’s such a sweet boy! I’m glad he got around to loving you. I hope you and Nemo don’t fight over his affections! I’m glad to hear that Roan is growing up too. Laying on his side makes tv watching very convenient. You and Ilya have a fine pair of sons.
